Common mode L-section filters consist of two or more coils of insulated wire on a single magnetic core. It is called L-section filter because the inductor and capacitor are connected in the shape of inverted L. Each winding is put in series with one of the conductors. Common mode choke coils are often used in switching power supply equipment to eliminate common mode electromagnetic interference signals.
